Andy Gooday was born and grew up in Sussex, England. During the late 1990′s he operated a number of Nike branded airport retail stores. During this time he became a keen student of buyer psychology which he explored further in the early noughties as he developed retail channels in Europe, North America, China and Australia.
His passion for identifying the unconscious criteria that, if not quickly met, cause buyers to leave a store or website, or to simply ‘switch-off’ during a sales meeting, led him to work with one of the leading thinkers in buyer psychology (Siemon Scamell-Katz – Author of The Art of Shopping).
After starting his own business and networking with other business owners Andy’s realisation that many SME business owners did not understand the strategies that big brands and retailers employed, led to him founding Marcatus and penning Ready To Buy.
Marcatus is now used by businesses across Europe and North America to build a segmented customer database and send targeted marketing that matches the unconscious criteria they are considering at their point in the buying journey.
